8 cm Echioceras ammonite bed, Charmouth, Jurassic Coast, UK
This ammonite bed is full of Echioceras with some partial Crucilobiceras and one juvenile Eoderoceras ammonite. The ammonite bed measures 8 cm across it’s widest part. The nodule comes from near the Watch Ammonite stone showing much better preservation than usual Echioceras limestone.
Free standing on a cut base with no restoration or repairs. There is some natural wear to the keels.
Lower Pliensbachian, Stonebarrow Marl Member, Charmouth Mudstone Formation, Echioceras beds.
